Prove it. Or read it.
Independent Rolex authentication and Swiss watch diagnosis in Zurich. We authenticate pre-owned Rolex before you buy, and read any fine Swiss watch movement on the timegrapher — from Meilen on the Zürich Goldcoast. We inspect, we diagnose; we never buy, sell or service.
Is it real?
Superfake Rolex and franken-Rolexes now pass the showroom. Get a forensic, neutral Rolex authentication — dial, caliber, timing — before the money moves.
Is it healthy?
A professional ultrasonic bracelet clean and an honest timegrapher reading of any fine Swiss watch movement — Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Breitling, IWC. Is it running healthy, or due for a service?
Diagnosis & Bracelet Clean
The easy first visit — a professional ultrasonic bracelet clean, plus an honest timegrapher read of the movement.
- Professional ultrasonic bath — bracelet cleaned, grime and residue lifted
- Full timegrapher reading — rate, amplitude and beat error
- A clear verdict: running healthy, or due for a proper service
- For Omega, Tudor, Breitling, IWC and other fine Swiss movements
Note: we clean the bracelet only — we never open or service the movement or case.
Standard Authentication
- Microscope analysis of dial typography, hands, bezel and case geometry
- Serial & reference validation against production years
- UV spectrum lume verification
- External check for non-original, period-incorrect parts
Master Authentication
- Everything in Level I
- Case opening & caliber ID (e.g. 3135, 3235, 4130) — no aftermarket parts
- Digital beat analysis: rate, amplitude, beat error
- Microscope check for corrosion, re-polishing and franken assembly
Note: no waterproof test performed.
Rolex authentication (Standard & Master, Level I and Level II) is our specialism. Our timegrapher is calibrated for all high-end Swiss watch movements; the diagnosis reports on running condition and tells you whether a proper service is due. We clean the bracelet in a professional ultrasonic bath and we diagnose — but we never open or service the movement, and we never buy or sell watches. That is what independent means, and it is what makes our verdict worth trusting.
A dealer profits when you buy. A seller profits when you trust. We profit only when you know.
The superfake
Modern superfake Rolex clones and 1:1 replica cases now pass a wrist-and-glance check. The tell is in dial typography, hand finishing and timing signature — under magnification, not under showroom lighting.
The franken-watch
A franken-Rolex is worse: genuine case, genuine papers — but wrong dial, swapped bezel, aftermarket movement parts. Sold as original, worth a fraction. The numbers match; the watch does not.
The tired investment
Real and original, but the movement is dry, magnetised or out of beat. A timegrapher reading tells you whether you're buying a watch or a service bill.
Forensic instruments, not gut feeling.
Every conclusion is traceable to a measurement. Three instruments, one neutral verdict — documented with close-up images you keep.
Microscope
Dial typography, hand finishing, bezel and case geometry, re-polishing evidence and hidden corrosion — examined at magnification.
UV spectrum
Lume reaction read under UV to confirm material and period — separating Super-LumiNova from tritium and flagging re-lumed dials.
Timegrapher
Rate, amplitude and beat error measured digitally. The mechanical signature that reveals service condition and movement integrity.
The work, documented.
Every reading happens on the bench and is photographed at every step. This is the evidence behind the verdict — and the proof you keep.

What people ask before they hand over a Rolex.
Six of the questions that come up most often. If yours isn't here, write to us — we reply within 24 hours.
How do I know if my Rolex is authentic?
Modern superfake Rolex clones and franken-Rolexes now pass a wrist-and-glance check, so the only reliable answer is a forensic examination — not a photo, not a store visit, not a friend's opinion.
TrueBeat inspects dial typography, hand finishing, bezel and case geometry, serial and reference numbers against production years, lume reaction under UV spectrum, and — at Master level — the caliber itself, opening the caseback to verify no aftermarket parts have been fitted. Every finding is documented with close-up images and delivered as a signed, numbered report you keep.
Where can I get a Rolex authenticated in Zurich?
TrueBeat is the independent forensic watch lab for the Zürich Goldcoast, based in Meilen and serving all of Zurich, the wider canton and clients across Switzerland.
Because we are independent — we never buy, sell or service watches — you receive a neutral verdict rather than a sales pitch. Handovers are by appointment at a secure, mutually agreed location across Zurich City and the Goldcoast (Meilen, Küsnacht, Zollikon, Zurich centre).
What is the difference between authentication and appraisal?
Authentication answers the question "Is this Rolex genuine and original throughout?" — the forensic verification of parts, materials, provenance and movement.
Appraisal answers "What is it worth?" — a market valuation.
TrueBeat performs authentication and mechanical diagnosis only; we do not provide monetary valuations. Setting a price would compromise our neutrality when we may already have inspected the same watch for a seller or a buyer — and neutrality is the whole product.
Can superfake Rolex watches really be detected?
Yes. Even today's best clone Rolex movements and 1:1 replica cases leave forensic signatures — micro-variations in dial printing, hand finishing, machining tolerances, and timing signature under a professional timegrapher.
Under magnification and calibrated instruments these tells are consistent and reliable. What fools a showroom does not fool a lab.
Do you service or repair the watch?
No. TrueBeat is a diagnostic lab, not a workshop. We clean the bracelet in a professional ultrasonic bath and read the movement on the timegrapher, then tell you whether the watch is running healthy or due for a proper service — but we never open or service the movement.
This is the source of our neutrality: we have no incentive to invent work, no financial interest in whichever verdict we deliver. If your watch needs service, we will simply say so and let you choose your watchmaker.
How much does Rolex authentication cost?
CHF 110 for Standard Rolex Authentication (Level I — full external forensic examination).
CHF 160 for Master Rolex Authentication (Level II — Level I plus caseback opening, caliber verification and complete timegrapher beat analysis).
CHF 60 for a Diagnosis & Bracelet Clean of any fine Swiss watch (Omega, Tudor, Breitling, IWC, and others).
All prices include a signed, numbered report. Every enquiry receives a reply within 24 hours.
