GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE (GTC) Last updated: January 2026
1. SCOPE OF SERVICE True Beat (hereinafter "the Provider") provides technical analysis, movement verification, and authentication services for Rolex timepieces. The Provider acts as an independent expert and is neither affiliated with, authorized by, nor endorsed by Rolex S.A.
2. NATURE OF SERVICES The certificates and health reports issued constitute a technical expert opinion based on current horological standards. They do not constitute an absolute legal guarantee. Although all professional technical means (microscope, timegrapher, UV spectrum) are implemented, the Provider cannot be held liable in the event of a divergence of opinion with a third party or the brand itself at a later date.
3. LIABILITY AND LIMITATIONS The Provider's liability regarding the accuracy of the analysis is strictly limited to the amount invoiced for the service. In the unlikely event of material damage occurring while the watch is being handled in our laboratory, liability is covered by our professional insurance up to the market value of the item, subject to proof of the watch's initial condition at the time of intake.
3.1. Pre-Existing Condition The Client acknowledges that the watch is submitted in its current condition ("as is"). The Provider performs a photographic intake upon receipt. The Provider shall not be held liable for any scratches, marks, or dial imperfections that were present prior to the handover, even if not explicitly noted in the initial discussion.
3.2. Vintage Fragility For vintage timepieces (aged 10+ years), the Client acknowledges the inherent risk of mechanical fatigue. The Provider declines all responsibility for the failure of aged components during standard inspection procedures (e.g., mainspring breakage during winding, brittle luminous material flaking from hands, or crown detachment due to thread wear). Such events are considered natural mechanical failure, not negligence.
3.3. Water Resistance Unless a specific "Resealing & Pressure Test" service is purchased and passed, the Provider does not guarantee the water resistance of the timepiece. The watch is opened for inspection; therefore, water resistance is considered void upon return to the Client.
3.4. Loss or Theft In the event of total loss (theft, fire, loss) while the watch is in the Provider’s custody, liability is strictly limited to the current fair market value of the watch alone, to the exclusion of any "sentimental value" or indirect consequential damages.
4. DEPOSIT AND HANDOVER The Client remains responsible for the watch until it is handed over personally to the Provider at the agreed secure meeting point. For mail-in services, the transfer of risk occurs only upon physical receipt of the package by the Provider. Return shipping is performed at the Client's risk, unless the Client subscribes to the specific additional transport insurance (Secursus) offered by the Provider.
5. PAYMENT Full payment (via TWINT or Cash) is due immediately upon the physical deposit of the watch (Face-to-Face) or prior to return shipping (Mail-in). No physical certificate or digital report will be released without full payment.
6. APPLICABLE LAW All contractual relations are subject to Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any dispute is Meilen (ZH), Switzerland.
